Since the 1980s Annick Tinel-Blondelet has furthered the tradition on the best terroirs of the Pouilly appellations incorporating today’s techniques while respecting the terroir and creating authentic wines. Six generations of the Blondelet family have upheld the winemaking tradition at Pouilly-sur-Loire.
They are best know for their Pouilly Fume. "Fume" means "smoked" and it is interesting to understand where the name "Pouilly Fume" come from...
When ripe, the grapes are covered with a fine gray skin, typical of Sauvignon Blanc in the terroirs of Pouilly. Scattered by the wind during the harvest, it gives the impression of smoke.
This dry fruity white wine with the characteristic flinty taste develops a large aromatic palette according to the terroir. Aromas of citrus, white flowers and vineyard peaches are found here.
